Mary, Oops. Sorry about that previous blank message. Per the Grant Co., WI marriage records: August Ray married Blanche Peer, 30 May 1911. Recorded in Book 19, Page 47. August is recorded as the son of Adolph and Maria (Greene) Ray. Blanche the daughter of Samuel and Nancy J. (Dixon) Peer. Also: Will Ray married Bertha Peer, 29 Dec 1909. Recorded in Book 19, Page 27. Will is recorded as the son of ?Unknown? Ray?? and Louisa Ray. Bertha the daughter of Samuel and Nancy J. (Dixon) Peer. In the "Parents" book transcribed by Kathleen Grattan Henderson, Will's father is listed as ? Ray. The way this was listed, it would appear that his father was unknown and maybe his mother, Louisa may have had Will out of wedlock. You would need to request the original record from the courthouse to be sure what it says. Generally, both parents are listed at least by their first name. In this case, it would appear that Louisa may have been a Ray, her husband, maybe not?? The Peer girls were obviously sisters. You may want to request these records from the Grant Co. courthouse to see just where the marriages took place. That might lead you to a newspaper in the county that listed the marriages. A marriage record might provide some insight. Do you know where Will was married? The 1900 census might provide a clue. Wish I could provide more, but this seems to be a mystery. Dave Taft
