Included is a note with the obituary of Catherine (Steele) Farrand: Grant County Herald 24 Nov 1887, [contributed by Eleanor L Wenzel] At here home, south of Hurricane on the evening of the 12th of Nov. Mrs. Catherine Farrand died. She had been in ill health for some time past, but her trials are over now. Catherine Jane Steel was born in Syracuse, N.Y., April 18, 1834 of Christian parents and was early taught the way of life. Her parents moved from their home in New York when she was three years old to Oakland County, Michigan where in 1852 she was married to N.J. Farrand, whom she leaves to mourn her loss. They came to the Hurricane in 1863 and have lived in and near it ever since. Her life gave evidence of a pure mind and an honest heart. She as loved and respected by all who knew her. She was buried in the grave yard east of V.H. Kiney's or - Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, Wisconsin. Guess this line isn't as much of a mystery any longer. Dave Taft
