He took a giant in Grant county -- where they aren't so profuse, by the way -- in 1945 and the rack spreads across 24 1/2 inches. Unfortunately, Erskine is away off the pace. Homer PEARSON's 1947 kill is the record in my book. It's 34 inches, and the rack hangs in a Rice Lake tavern. Harry SEEVER of Sarona shot one of 29 1/2 inches and Sam DIXON of Long Lake one of 27 inches, this during the 1948 season.
