M. LOOMIS Maynard friends of the LOOMIS family were shocked when news came of the death of Mr. LOOMIS or "Art" as he was familiarly known in Maynard community. As Julian McArthur LOOMIS he was born at Beetown, Wisconsin Oct. 30, 1876, where he spent his early boyhood. When he was 12 years of age he moved to Fayette County, Iowa with his parents. They settled at West Union, Iowa, where he grew to young manhood. On Sept. 28, 1901 he was united in marriage to Miss Alma WILKINSON of Maynard, Iowa. The young couple established a home on the farm of her father three miles east of Maynard. Six children came to bless this union, their eldest child Marjorie preceded him in death, when but three years of age. They continued to live on the farm until 1936 when they moved to Clara, Missouri, where they were living at the time of his passing Feb. 21st, 1941. He was a good neighbor and kind friends, [sic] hujsband and father. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He was 64 years, 3 months and 21 days old. He leaves his wife, five children: Irving of Winthrop, Ia.; Everette of Clara, Mo., Charles H., Emma (Mrs. R. STEGGALL) and H.J. of Oelwein, Iowa; ten grandchildren and one brother F. E. LOOMIS, of El Reno, Okla. The remains were brought to Fayette with services held Monday, Feb. 24th. Interment in Fayette Cemetery.
