What do you have on her? Do you have any pictures of this family or these people? You can reach me at ourfarm@pitnet.net. I just started talking with Mary Jenista and we are sharing info, too.
Anyone have any suggestions for me? I am at a huge DeadEnd with one of my ancestors. His name was Washington ELLIS and he lived a good long time (1807 to 1890) and had plenty of children (seventeen) so one would think I could find enough information on him to get back another generation. I have found him in the census in 1840 through 1880 (from 1850 through 1880, he was in Grant County), I have found both his marriage records (in 1833 to Elizabeth Blankenship and 1855 to Agnes Smith Cox) but so far, nothing that will point me in the direction of his parents' names. I've asked Grant County for a death record (7 Mar 1890) and a probate record, but they could find nothing. I've also inquired of Lafayette County AND Dubuque, IA. Nothing. Nothing in the Wisconsin state archives either. I've found his obituary in the Grand County "Herald," but it was very skimpy on details. Washington did have two brothers who also lived in Grant County for a time (Wesley and Marshall), but they both died in the 1850s. Any ideas????? Thanks so much. Susan
