He grew up in Platteville. I am in the process of looking for a place for us to live together so I can take care of him. For the past week or so, I've been going through his piles of stuff, separating the good stuff from the trash. Just today, we came upon a box with old phones in it. Lying on top of the phones was an old picture of my Dad and one of his buddies. My Dad was born in 1923 and they looked to be 16 or 17 in the picture. "Who's this, Dad?" "Oh, that's my friend Gordon." "Gordon who, Dad?" "Gordon Smith." And then I open up my email to see your post. I don't know if my Dad will have anything more on Gordon or not, but I will certainly ask him. At the very least, I can send you a copy of the photo.
