I appreciate the infomration and the leads. We do not know the names of the biological parents of the girls because they did not speak of their childhood. The understanding is that they were Native American girls and had been orphaned in a village massacre. They were not encouraged to speak of it and I think the circumstances were hard on the Nimbergers who were good enough to adopt them. Unfortunately, no one seems to have any information beyond the Niimbergers - what tribe they may have belonged to, where they may have lived etc. It's quite a mystery. Thanks again!
