    1. Grant County Cemetery Tombstone Photos--Scenk
    2. I'm looking for the cemetery/cemeteries of my ancestors and some of their children. I've checked for the ones available online, and if they were buried in a public cemetery, they're not available yet. Thanks for reading. Diane Michael SCHENK b ABOUT 1804 Württemberg, Germany; d BEFORE Mar 1878, probably Ellenboro, Grant County, Wisconsin. 2nd wife: Catherine b Germany, d AFTER 1878. Last census record: 1870 US Census, Post Office Ellenboro, Ellenboro, Grant County, Wisconsin, roll M593-1716, page 105, dwelling 7, family 7: Michael Schenk, age 65, Farmer, born Württemberg, Germany Catherine, age 55, Keeping Home, born Baden Carl, age 25, born Württemberg, Germany, Mary, age 15, born Wisconsin, Bernard, age 10, born Wisconsin, I know Michael was married before Catherine, and I suspect she died in Germany, during the emigration or soon thereafter. Perhaps Carl is of that marriage. Other census records list older men, too: Charles, Joseph. There is also my ancestor, Robert Schenk, who moved away from Wisconsin, lived in Illinois, Nebraska, and Kansas. Robert married Rosa. Any information about the Schenks from Ellenboro is greatly appreciated.

    3. Daniel, Thank you for your kind words! This was exactly the reason I posted them to the Rootsweb message boards (and then they go to the mailing list). Rootsweb and USGenWeb are not related to each other, so having multiple "repositories" was my initial idea - this is a great resource, and I want it to be available for many years to come! I search counties a lot and am thrilled when I find other mailing lists where people have thoughtfully posted lots of hard to find material. Then I just copy the material without bothering people. This data will now likely be available as long as the mailing lists are up, even if the county pages go down. Multiple sources has certainly benefited my research.
