The best information I have on the Almira Scott in my line is that she was born Feb 4, 1841 in Freeport, IL. Does that match with the age she would be in your 1860 census? My Isaac Scott (my g g g grandfather) and his family are in the 1860 census book for Grant County in the Town of Wingville (p 135). Almira was no longer living at home with them at that time. She would have been 19. Hiram Seth Scott, my g g grandfather was 15 that year. I don't have record of any Horace Scott. Isaac Scott's brothers were Israel (b 1792), Daniel (b 1793), Gad (b 1799) and Seth (b 1801). They were all born in MA.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Johnson, Olson, Skinner Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lEC.2ACE/2002 Message Board Post: I am trying to confirm (and hopefully find out more) of the family of Edward A Johnson, born 11 Apr 1863, in Boscobel (Grant Co.) His death certificate lists his father as Arnie Johnson, mother as Kristie Johnson, both born in Norway. I found an Andrew Johnson (age 24) in the 1860 census in Watterstown, married to Mary (age 24) two children, Andrew (age 3), Mary (age 2/12). In the 1870 census in Watterstown, Andrew (age 40), wife Cristina (age 34), children - John (age 13), Christina (age 10), Edward (age 7), Inger B (age 4), Martin (age 1). In the 1880 census in Watterstown, Andrew (age 50), new wife Sarah (age 37), children - Martin (age 11), Hannah (age 12), Lena & Annie (age 9), Olaf (age 6), John (age 5), Elizabeth (age 3). I also have marriage date of 10 Sep 1855 of Andrew Johnson to Christena Johnson in Grant Co., and then on 09 Aug 1877 Andrew Johnson to Sarah Melissa Skinner in Monroe Co. Any info would be appreciated. His parents and siblings are one of my brick walls. Thank you.

    3. Thanks Mary...i guess that would help! :) Yes...i have found him under misspelled names in Censuses...a few... No actual marriage, death, or burial info... Only have names of children from Census records...my great-grandfather Lewis Alvin was one of his children... Have more info about his brother Frederick...such as land deeds, etc... Nothing on William though...but do know they must have been neighbors for awhile... Have talked a little to descendents of Frederick...but they have no info on his brother William... Thanks again Mary... Have a great day!
