Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lEC.2ACE/4088 Message Board Post: Hi am trying to find more info on this family. All I know is from the book: History of Grant County, Wisconsin 1881 and one other Wisc History book that only tells a story of a race horse tale, but no family data. I know he was born in Lancaster Co. Penn. and lived and raised his family in Platteville. Family traditions say they had 21 children, but I can only find stories of 7 and they are somewhat contradictory. Family says he was married to his first wife who had 17 children, and the second wife, Mary Bennett, had 4. But the 1881 book contradicts that. My family is the decendent of Sarah (Hoosier) Young. The "supposed" last of the 21 children. Kristi

Many of the females in my family were married at 13 and the boys by 15. It was sure a different time. Today young people can barely take responsibility for themselves let alone a family. Hope this helps. Dolores
