In 1918 he was living in Minneapolis and his wife Emma appears to have been in an asylum in Rochester, MN. Charles was a bricklayer for the gas company, and was missing two fingers from his left hand. In 1910 he and Emma have been married 9 years and have had 5 children, 4 of whom are living. The family is enumerated in Minneapolis, where Charles is a stone mason; his birthplace is listed as WI. In 1920, 3 of the children are living with their aunt Helen and uncle Charles GALLES; their grandmother Margaret R. GARRETT is also with the household. In this census the children are listed with father's birthplace in IA. According to the age of Charles's son Vincent in the censuses, the following may be his SSDI data: Name: Vincent McDowell SSN: 523-46-8316 Last Residence: 52404 Cedar Rapids, Linn, IA Born: 11 Jun 1902 Died: Jul 1976 State (Year) SSN issued: Colorado (1954 ) I believe the marriage record for Charles's son Vincent may be: Name: Vincent Chas McDowell Age: 28 Gender: Male Spouse: Violet Clara Benoit Marriage Date: 25 Oct 1930 Marriage County: Pennington [South Dakota] County of Residence: Meade Post Office: Sturgis I hope these items are helpful to you.

He married Margaret Beavers, whom I have a good bit of info, but nothing other than above. He died after 1880 census and before 1900, where I do not know, but I do not think he died in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. Margaret remarried after he died to Wm. Garrett. I have tried to locate this man in PA and after he left PA, but just cannot. Verna

I, too, would be interesting in researching records of the church. If anyone figures out how to contact them, please post it to the list. To: WIGRANT-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <E1H3QAB-0004O4-SB@elasmtp-banded.atl.sa.earthlink.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII I am looking for information on records of the Liberty Ridge Church north of Lancaster and south of Fennimore. I believe one - or both - of my g-g-grandparents and their families attended there in the 1870s-late 1880s. I would like to find out who to contact so I can research my families involvement there. I am particularly looking for information on the youngest child of the Kleins who may have attended there. She is my brick wall after 1881. Thanks for any help. I am looking for someone who would be able to do a lookup of a land record for a parcel I believe was owned by my g-g-grandfather in the 1860/1870 period. Either a paid or a volunteer basis would work for me. Please email me directly off list for more details. Thanks. Ron Klein ------------------- ronklein@ix.netcom.com

Thank you Dave, I believe Calvin is the son of David and Minerva J. HOOKS. She the Daughter of Elijah and Harriet (unknown) HOOKS. Ron
Ron, Per the Death Records of Grant Co., WI, earliest to 1930, compiled by Kathleen Grattan Wolfe: Calvin Barrett, age 32, husband of Jennie A., died 20 Sep 1900 in Grant Co. Calvin was recorded as the son of David and Minerva (Unknown) Barrett. Recorded in Grant Co. Deaths, Book 4, Page 173. Regards, Dave Taft
Greetings and Happy New Year, Best I can determine Calvin BARRETT died prior to the 1910 US census. His wife Jennie (MNUK) then married Charles WOODS prior to 1910 census. I am interested in the date of Calvin's death. I believe his parents are buried in Nip and Tuck Cemetery. David and Minerva BARRETT, 1845-1901 and 1847-1922 respectively. Ron HABEL Vista, CA.
