    1. [WIGRANT] land records
    2. Hi All, Can someone tell me where I can write for copies of Land records in Grant County? For years I have over looked the fact that Lucy A. Wood was the Grantee of some property from Stephen & Elizabeth Raymond. Not sure when the land was bought but it must have been around 1874 or 1884. Thanks for your help. 1. [WIGRANT] Lancaster Hillside Cemetery?
    2. Ron Klein
    3. Can someone tell me where to find a map of the Lancaster Hillside cemetery that might allow a person to locate someone without wandering around the huge cemetery for a full day? I was there about 18 months ago for a short time and did not see a layout at the cemetery itself. I hope to be back again later this year and would like to find out where to go to obtain such information in order to locate several family members that are probably scattered around. Thanks for any help. Ron Klein

    3. Try contacting the county courthouse or the city municipal office. You can do a google search to get the appropriate phone numbers. 1. [WIGRANT] Birth/Baptismal Info on Mary G. Rupp
    2. Patrick Carney
    3. Good morning, all - I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of how to obtain either a birth or baptismal record for Mary G. Rupp, who, I understand was born to John Rupp and Elizabeth (Winter) Rupp on 1 September 1859 near Tennyson, Grant County. (Among other things, I'm trying to confirm her middle name.) The family were Catholics (at least Mary was when she lived in Dubuque, IA from around 1880 on), so if anyone can tell me which parishes existed in or near Tennyson in 1859, that may be one way for me to track her down. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Best wishes, Pat Carney

    2. Mary Thiele Fobian
    3. Patrick, do you know whether Mary's parents died and were buried in Grant County? If so, you may be able to determine what parish they belonged to by locating copies of their obituaries. Also, In some of the Catholic church records I've managed to procure, there are occasionally references to the other parishes where the individual was baptised, rec'd first communion, got married, etc. So your Mary's church records in Dubuque may indicate where she was baptised. I will need to ask my Grandparent's some more about that side of the family. She and her husband had a son named Bernard Suer who was born 15 Jul 1846 in Schuylkill Co. Pennsylvania. He married Louisa Lierman and they named a daughter Elizabeth Ellen Suer who was born 25 Dec 1896. I'll look for more info and post if I find anything. BEAN/BEAM wife Eliza MILLER (except for John see note below) were parents of Julia BEAN who married William B. MORSE 15 Nov 1887 (Vol 10, p. 433) Mary D. BEAN who married John DRINKWATER 13 Dec 1883 (Vol 10, p. 296) Susan I. BEAN who married Albert H. VANVALKENBURGH 28 Oct 1875 (Vol 7, p. 36) John E. BEAN who married Mattie TYLER 30 Jul 1890 (Vol 11, p. 146) Maud Estella BEAN who married James Madison PARKER 5 Sep 1888 (Vol 11, p. 24) Note that the mother of John E. BEAN is noted as Eliza BRAND As to the deaths of Stephen and Eliza BEAN I checked the Index to Deaths in Grant County, Earliest to 1914 and did not find any entries for them. You may want to check with Mrs. Gilbert Jentz, 955 Williams St., Platteville, WI, 53818. She has the cemetery records collected by the Grant County Genealogical Society and for $3.00 she will copy all cards with the BEAN surname for you. Also enclose a self addressed stamped envelope for her reply. Hope this helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
