Moon, a half brother of my great grandfather, Thomas Perry Moon, moved to Platteville, Wisconsin, and was listed there on the 1880 census. He is the son of Joseph Moon, born about 1815 in Kentucky, and grew up in Jefferson County, Missouri. He married Minerva Dowling in 1841. They had at least the following children: James W. Moon, Claudius Moon, J. Martinez Moon, Ferdinan Moon, and Clara Moon. I suspect he died there. I would appreciate any information about his or his wife's death or families.

Hello Would someone be able to look up a 1880 census for William McCloud b. 1832, VA, wife Mary Ann b. 1838, MO. In 1870, they are in Beetown. There children and their ages in 1880 would be: Esther, 26 Milly, 23, George, 20, John, 17, Mary, 15, William, 13, Josephine, 12, Although most of them will probably not show up in the home. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dear Friends, I found a photo post card of the Boscobel Band of 1925. The members pictured are identified on the reverse, in pencil, in what could well be my mother's handwriting. She was the Granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Kronshage, Sr., of Boscobel. I would be happy to make my scan (jpeg) of the photo available, by eMail attachment, to list members who might desire a copy. If, by some chance, it is requested by hordes of people, I will seek some convenient way to distribute this item. Thanks, Jon v. The birth date for the following Social Security Death Index record are consistent with the Gordon Smith you're researching. If you procure his SS5 Application for Social Security Number, it will state both parents' names (if Gordon knew them). Also, armed with the birth date you can write to the Grant County records office and get a copy of his birth certificate. Here's the SSDI info: GORDON SMITH Born 12 May 1921 Died Feb 1986 Residence at death 53818 Platteville, Grant, WI Last Benefit 53818 Platteville, Grant, WI SSN 572-42-4582 issued in CA (Before 1951) You may already have the following information about Dewane and his wives: HULL, DEWANE married BUTSON, SUSIE E. on 30 Dec 1891 in Grant Co. WI HULL, DEWANE married POLANDER, NEVA on 15 Dec 1897 in Grant Co. WI

Susan Cummins did indeed send me a picture of the Gordon Smith that lived on West Cedar (about 1940). It is a match, no doubt about it. So I finally located Gordon Smith in the 1930 census..... he was 9 yrs old, living at 568 West Cedar with GRANDPARENTS Dewane Hull and Geneva Hull. No kids at this time. This is also strong support that this Gordon is my grandfather, as my dad's middle name is Dewane; Old Dewante Hull also has a son named Archie. Here is the results from 1910 census, 568 Adams Place Platteville; Dewane Hull 42 yrs. old; married 12 yrs; born in WI as parents; Teacher Geneva Hull; 32 yrs old; married 12 yrs.; born in WI (parents IL and WI); Jessie Hull (daughter); 17 years old (from prior marriage to Susan Butson); single, in school Velma Hull (daughter); 11 yrs old in school Archie Hull; 9 yrs old Ruth Hull; born in Aug 1909 In 1920, West Cedar: Dewane Hull Geneva Hull Velma Hull- 21 yrs old, single Archie Hull; 19 yrs old, single Ruth Hull; 11 yrs old In 1930, 548 Cedar Street: Dewane Smith, 62 yrs old Geneva Hull. 52 GORDON SMITH, grandson, age 9....born in WI, Father "???", mother born in WI So it appears that Gordon Smith's parents were a daughter Hull, and an unknown Smith. Louis? Velma? Jessie? Any resources I can further check? thanks, Mark Smith
In Muscoda, Solomon Schneider married Mary Haas, Baden Wurttmeberg, Germany She arrived in America 1853 and was married early the following year. He was born 2 Dec 1881, and according to the 1920 census, he was born in Wisconsin. Talking to family members they believe he had brothers Anthony (Tony), Charles and Lawrence. He was from a very large family of stepbrothers and stepsisters. Grandpa father was married to a woman who had 4-5 children before she died. His father then remarried (Marie/Mary) and they had 4-5 children. Then he died and his mother remarried and had 4-5 more children. If you have any information for me, I will be eternally grateful.
