Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lEC.2ACE/1015.1.1 Message Board Post: I have found in 1910 census from Iowa, county of Scott, township of buffalo, that has Aaron as head, wife as Mary with son Leroy 20 years of age and son Clarence 18 years of age. I did notice that census said Aaron and Mary were married only 15 years. Could explain that they were not married as yet when children came or children had another mother. The marriage license confirms all names but Mary's last name is not legible. Grandmothers name was Bertha Fortner. Leroys death certificate says he was born in Wisconsin but nothing else. Died in Peoria Illinois. Where should I go from here?? Thanks Diana

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lEC.2ACE/1015.1 Message Board Post: There is a marriage record for an Aron CHASE marrying Emaline PAFFORD in Grant County, Wisconsin on 22 May 1886, recorded in Vol 10 Page 354 of the marriage records. (From Index to Marriage Records for Grant County by the Grant County Genealogical Scoiety). From the index to parents of brides and grooms by Kathleen Henderson, Aron CHASE is listed as son of Liferd CHASE and Kandice Suil ?, while Emaline is listed as the daughter of John Tistle PAFFORD and Matilda ? I also checked the Grant County Wisconsin Birth Records to 1891 compiled by David Taft and did not find an entry for any child of Aaron CHASE born up to 1891. That does not mean he wasn't born there it merely means no record was filed in Grant County, mandatory registration of births did not occur for several more years. You may want to reply with more information such as name of child and any siblings as these can be helpful in filling in missing pieces of the puzzle.

Have you already checked whitepages.com to see if Frances is listed? If not, you can check for her and get her exact death date at: http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/ You are likely to get many matches on that name, so I recommend first clicking on the ADVANCED SEARCH near the bottom of the page. In the resulting Advanced Search page, specify Grant County in the LAST RESIDENCE and/or LAST BENEFIT field(s).
