    1. [WIGEN-L] Follow-up: Proposed SC and ASC update to WIGenWeb Guidelines
    2. Tina S Vickery
    3. On October 25, I sent the following: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/WIGEN/2003-10/1067092161 to this list. I heard from very few of you, regarding this issue, and no discussion of it here on this list. At this time, I would like to propose the following as an update to the WIGenWeb Project Guidelines: State Coordinator: The State Coordinator (SC) is the primary administrative officer of WIGenWeb. SC duties include, but are not limited to, oversight and maintenance of the WIGenWeb state web site, recruiting and training new project volunteers, and maintaining the WIGenWeb coordinator's mailing list. The SC has the responsibility and authority to select new County Coordinators in accordance with national and WIGenWeb guidelines, and to replace County Coordinators who fail to comply with WIGenWeb or USGenWeb bylaws, rules, and policies. State Coordinator Election Procedures: An election for the office of WIGenWeb State Coordinator is to be initiated and completed every two years (on odd-numbered years) in the month of October, the term of office commencing November 1st. There is no limit to the number of terms an individual may be elected. The election is to be administered by The USGenWeb Elections Committee. The State Coordinator will be elected by the WIGenWeb Project membership. Each member may cast one vote only (no matter the number of county or topical sites hosted). The winner of the election will be the individual who receives a fraction over 50 percent of the votes cast. If no candidate receives at least a fraction over 50 percent of the vote, then a run-off election will be held between the two individuals with the highest vote totals. The winner of the run-off will be the individual who receives at least a fraction over 50 percent of the votes cast. Assistant State Coordinator: The Assistant State Coordinator (ASC) is selected by the State Coordinator. The ASC is responsible for assisting the SC as needed. The ASC would be called to serve as Acting SC in the event that the elected SC resigns, becomes ill, is on extended vacation, or is unable to meet the SC position requirements. In the event of resignation the ASC shall serve until an election can take place within the state following the State Coordinator Election Procedures. Discussion, suggestions? Tina

    3. Questions: 1) Should these Project Guidelines be written as WIGenWeb By-Laws? 2) under election procedures, what is the definition of or rather who all is included in WIGenWeb membership? (ie. county coordinators, co-coordinators, assistants, state coordinator, and ?) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tina S Vickery" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: 02 December, 2003 6:51 PM Subject: [WIGEN-L] Follow-up: Proposed SC and ASC update to WIGenWeb Guidelines On October 25, I sent the following: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/WIGEN/2003-10/1067092161 to this list.
