On 6/9 I last wrote about an exciting discovery - finding info on my g-g-g-grandparents (CARPENTER). I'd been looking for them in central New York, only to find out that they'd gone to Wisconsin in the 1850's. I told you of all the neat items I'd learned. Well.......... I got blown away again over the weekend, when Saturday evening I received photos of the tombstones of my ancestor and his wife, another daughter of theirs from a gentleman in Richland County, WI. I had a question about one of the pictures, so on Sunday he sent me even more pictures (14 in all) of the family and the daughter's in law's lots and individual tombstone photos! The info from the tombstones of course gave me some of the date info that I needed for this set of ancestors. Also on Sunday this gentleman sent me all the CARPENTER info he had in his database for Richland County, WI. Then.... Late Sunday evening, a lady somewhere in Wisconsin sent me a blurb she'd gotten that gave me more info on my ancestor, a short bio along with the info that he and wife had had 12 children. (something to work on!) And then... the real kicker of the whole weekend, where my Mr. CARPENTER was born, that he had 12 siblings AND his parents names! What a wonderful week it was. I don't believe I could have asked for a better week! Thanks to both David and Marie for being so helpful and sharing the info ya'll had based on the clues I passed along.
