Peggy, Did you try doing this the other way around (i.e., turn on the gateway via your GenConnect admin screen, rather than adding GenConnect to your mail list)? I am the administrator for my GenConnect boards, but not for my "paired" county list, so this is the way it worked for me: the Marinette County list administrator requested that the gateway be turned on, and I was sent an auto-generated message from the GenConnect system with the following URLs to help me accomplish this. #3 is the one for getting the job done. There is a bright yellow box on the change form; all you have to do is click on a button, and it's done. #1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about gateways http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/AdminCenter/gateway #2 Request form for gateway changes http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/cgi-bin/gateway_request.cgi #3 Change form (for toggling the gateway on or off) http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/signup/change.html Deana Hipke Marinette County WiGenWeb Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarine The Great Peshtigo Fire of 1871 http://userpages.chorus.net/dhipke/peshtigo.html P.S. I'm "behind the times" and working hard on getting caught up, too! Look for good things from Marinette County real soon ... ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Perrys" <pegmar@mhtc.net> To: <WIGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2000 6:45 PM Subject: [WIGEN-L] GenConnect/Mail list help > Well, I'm a bit behind the times here with getting things done and am trying > to get caught up just a tad.
