    3. I have found that as well. The index is supposed to start in 1820 but many listed marriages predate that, and Oconto was not made a county until 1851, yet members of my family were married on that index long before they were born, talk about early arranged marriages!!. I own the microfiche and also crossed checked a number of them. This is not a few mistakes. Out of the the several dozen I checked, only two had the correct year, and Ancestors' site has a lot of ???s in places where I could easily read the numbers and letters. The name spellings are also not very accurate at times when checked with the original fiche as well (which are pretty creative in their own right). It seems to have been thrown together much too hastily and that is not really a help to people. It also causes problems for the county workers and wastes money and time when they are asked to look for the records using the numbers given, and nothing is found. More harm than good to visitors, and does not do Ancestor's any good either.
