This happens to me at work when I have been to 1 too many webpages and my memory is getting thin --i.e., time for a reboot. I think if you have him reboot and try again that he won't have the problem again. I've never been able to recreate the problem at home (although I definitely know when it is time for a reboot) but it happens to me all too frequently at work. I'm not sure what the combination is that creates it. you can simply close the browser and try again, but it is still an indication of confiscated memory, and a reboot is best.
