Tina: I'd like to suggest that the WI GenWeb project have two lists available for the CCs: * One list would be mandatory for all CCs. Only the SC would be able to post to this list, and it would be reserved for communicating official WI GenWeb announcements. Since this list would have very few postings, I think a lot of the CCs would be more likely to read these postings rather than automatically deleting something just because it came from WIGEN-L. * One list would be voluntary for all CCs. This one everyone could post to, and it would be a more informal list. It would be more like what the WIGEN-L is now. This may solve the problem of CCs automatically deleting items sent to the WIGEN-L list, and it would help alleviate a lot of the hostilities we have seen in the past. Marie

Marie and all, Quite frankly, I don't want a list that only I post to. Often times when "official" WIGenWeb Project or USGenWeb Project business is posted to WIGEN-L, questions from all of you arise, and a list that only I post to would not be conducive nor amenable to a question, answer and discussion format and most certainly not fully serve the needs of the volunteers. I very much feel that as volunteers of the WIGenWeb Project and the USGenWeb Project, that all of us have a responsibility to not only participate, but to be informed of important information as it pertains to WIGenWeb Project and USGenWeb Project business and to have the ability to respond, ask questions and discuss as we feel so inclined. However, I am not adverse to having a business list (WIGEN-L) that all WIGenWeb Project County Coordinators are subbed to (mandatory) and a WIGEN-DISCUSS (for example), that all are initially subbed to but subscription is not mandatory.
