I was voted on for ASC - mainly I think because we had no SC or ASC at the time - again like Anne, if memory serves me correctly. Unless a state has rules to that effect - traditionally ASCs have been appointed by the SC - until they are replaced or resign. Since ideally the SC/ASC should work as a team, it makes sense that the SC/ASC be able to get along with each other - thus the appointment by the SC. Its rather hard to pull as a team if one or the other pull in opposite directions. Tim
