    3. HI! Just caught the note that someone couldn't find information on Grand Rapids, WoodCo, WI... I have Grand Rapids links listed on the WoodCoWI site under cities, under the history, and under geography. Grand Rapids History: http://www.scls.lib.wi.us/mcm/history/shorthistory.html http://www.scls.lib.wi.us/mcm/history/shorthistory.html Cities sorted by town: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood/geography/city-c.htm Cities sorted by township http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood/geography/city-t.htm Demographics for WoodCoWI: http://www.doa.state.wi.us/dhir/boir/demographic/geocodes_mcd.asp?dcode=00372 Then, I went to the WoodCoWI archives and typed in Grand Rapids, and got 42 hits under the state of WI and 11 under WoodCoWI... http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/wood/wood.htm I think part of the problem is, even if we have the information up, unless people come to our sites and look, they won't find it... I find people are NOT using the resources available and personally am stumped as to why! I got three queries today stating they were at a deadend and what could they do. Ten minutes later, doing the same thing, a search on the webpages using the Archives, I had births, deaths, cemeteries, etc... I just don't get it??? But, it really took me by surprise that a fellow CC didn't think to go to the USGenWeb site to find the information, or went there and couldn't find it. I am not putting the person down at all, just pointing out that perhaps we need to find a better way to do business??? I used to have this listing of WI cities linked on my main pages, but took it down as I didn't have time to update to the new look yet: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood/WisConsin/wicities.htm We could add all the obsolete cities listed in the COW book and then have a main link to WI pages, and the county coordinators could link it to their pages if they so desired... What do you think??? I am willing to donate the information from my pages...
