    3. Hi Everyone, In light of the message from Tim below, {Thanks Tim for letting me know} I have a question to ask and I am hoping someone here will have the answer from their own experience. When using the counter.rootsweb.com, would I have to create a separate account for each page on my website or can I use the same counter and end up with true numbers based on how many people visited the page and not the website. Meaning, if I start out with number one on the main page and Joe user goes to the Genealogy workshop page, would the counter then go to 2 or would it register as being 1 on the workshop page? Does that make sense? Thanks, Debie Blindauer Sheboygan & Calumet Counties >Actually it's happening universal to all using that form of counter - from >a talk >just now with RW folks. > >Seems the file that is hit for incrementing the counters is now trying to keep >counts for 1.2 million pages - in a file that is 104 megs in size and has >basically >died for the moment. > >RW programmer MadDoc suggests using counter.rootsweb.com as an alternative. > They will >fix it but when is the question. > >Tim > > >==== WIGEN Mailing List ==== >Celebrate Wisconsin! >Visit the La Crosse County WIGenWeb Project Pages >http://www.rootsweb.com/~wilacros/

Does that make sense? I must confess I got lost in your question - but a seperate counter has to be created: <Valorie> AFAIK, you need to have a counter on EACH page you want visitors counted on <Foggy> yep that's my thinking <Valorie> the same visitor will not trip the counter on A page, no matter how many times they go back in that "session <Valorie> so if they have 10 pages, 10 counters, 1 person visiting each can trip each one <Valorie> but the same visitor, visiting the front page 10 times, only trips the counter once. Does that answer your question Debie?
