In a nutshell, it scrunches your tables down, kills your imagemaps (if they weren't done right) and makes all of the fonts the exact same size --BIG, and all Arial/Helvetica. I haven't really bothed to design *for* WebTV, but I make sure all of my information is available --even if it doesn't look the greatest. For anyone who wants to take the extra time... You can download a "WebTV Viewer" from the WebTV site at http://developer.webtv.net/design/. They have an checklist of "do's and don'ts". There are two more new items that have just been uploaded to the Eau Claire Co. archives page. The first one is in the category of "Directories" and is the 1932 Business Directory of the town of Augusta located at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/eauclaire/directories/1932aubd.txt The second item that was uploaded this morning is a part of a new category and is the first of many items that will be uploaded to this category -- "SCHOOLS"! Here I will be including histories, lists of graduates, etc. And the first item is the History of Russell Corners School, 1862 - 1962 The file for this history can be located at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/eauclaire/schools/ruscorhi.txt This particular history includes names of the founding families and a complete listing of the teachers from 1862 through 1962. It's a 'must-see' for those who have families in the Augusta area. Have fun with these and be on the lookout for more! -- Nance mailto:nsampson@spacestar.net
Whew!!! It was a wild weekend on my computer! I started a new project yesterday -- Family Histories -- thought it was going to be a small project for Washburn County, but it ended up covering families for Sawyer County too! I sure am thankful to the Stone Lake Area Historical Society for granting me permission to take info out of their "Historical Album." And no sooner did I get started on that project, but obituaries started flooding in to my email account! When it rains, it pours -- or in this case, today it's snowing!
