    1. [WIGEN-L] More Dunn Co. Biographies
    2. Nance Sampson
    3. Three more great biographies have been uploaded to the Dunn Co. archives today, those being listed below. The first one is another example of Linda Schwartz's nice work. SCORE, Mike, Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/dunn/biographies/score.txt And these two bios were donated by Roni Fraysier. She, too, does some very nice work! SEE, Richard C., Colfax, Dunn Co., WI ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/dunn/biographies/see.txt SHERWOOD, Samuel, Otter Creek Tsp., Dunn Co., WI ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/dunn/biographies/sherwood.txt Also, every time something is added to the archives, the Table of Contents <http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/dunn.htm> is updated and each new file is marked as such with a "new" icon. So if you've missed visiting the Dunn Co. archives lately, you can still see what all is there. -- Nance mailto:nsampson@spacestar.net

    1. [WIGEN-L] Reservations anyone?
    2. Debie & Joe
    3. Hi Rita, Well now that sounds like the letter I received today asking if I would so kindly make reservations at the Holiday Inn Express here in Sheboygan. It is long distance for them after all. Fella said if I was willing to do this for him, he would send his credit card number to me so I could use it for the reservation. I thought that was either awful trusting or I would be walking right into a nightmare somewhere down the road. I didn't want to get into the middle of this, so I sent him the 800 number. As for the land on the lake person, well you can always send him to the Register of Deeds and he can ask them to look up the land information using the name. I do like your idea of combining the two requests though. Hey, we are not only website coordinators, we are secretaries and you basically name it people also. ;) Have a great weekend, Debie

    1. [WIGEN-L] Interesting Requests
    2. zorblitz
    3. I thought I would share these two letters. I received one yesterday and one today. At the very top of the Oconto County Home Page it says very clearly "Genealogy and Family History", but who reads the directions!? >Years ago my father purchased land on leigh flowage. After my > father passed away, my mother has continued to pay the property taxes. I am > at a point in my life where I may want to build a retirement cottage on the > land. I am trying to find the location, property size, and any information > regarding laws and regulations with building a cottage. > > Do you have any advice on where I can get this information. > > Thanks, Rick If his dad bought more land on a lake and his mom has paid the taxes all these years, I am definitely up for adoption! >Hi Rita. I am looking for an ansewer for reservations in Oconto for the North Shore >Campground. Dates are July 14 & 15. Could you please respond as soon as possible >so we can start to get ready to go. >Thank you and God Bless Hey!! I know someone who has land on Leigh Flowage!! Wonder if I should get them together to work something out??? Have a good weekend, all of you. Rita :0) - Oconto County

    1. [WIGEN-L] Dunn Co. Bios added to Archives
    2. Nance Sampson
    3. Hi fellow CC's, Linda Schwartz, CC for the Dunn Co. WIGenWeb Project, has submitted the following biographies to the Dunn Co. Archives. She did this to give her information "double-exposure", as some people only use one source and don't know about any others. So, if you haven't submitted files to your county's archives, you might want to give it a try and see if you get double exposure for your county too! ALLEN, W. 3. Well this was awfully nice to get tonight..... -----Original Message----- From: Trina Rabida [mailto:trina@itol.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2000 2:21 PM To: census@qworld.net Subject: Census Project To Whom it May Concern: I would like to take this opportunity to tell you and your staff what a truly wonderful project you have here. I was extremely fortunate to find scanned-in copies of the original census forms for 1870 for Door and Kewaunee counties in Wisconsin. It is because of your site that I was able to account for each and every ancestor who was alive at that time. When I first discovered family members' names at around midnight last night, I actually started to cry.....from pure joy!! The information your site contains is very, very beneficial to people researching family history and being able to see actual images of the census forms made it even more special, especially to our family. Thank you again, and (if possible) please pass this on to whoever was involved in getting those images online for Door and Kewaunee counties in Wisconsin from 1870. Sincerely, Trina Rabida trina@itol.com
