I appreciate your thanks, MAK! but.. I did not do anything without tons of help.. from Kelly, Tim each and every one of you, and many friends and visitor's along the way. With that said, a Thank You page for our contributors ... which by my estimation ... includes each and every one of you, is a terrific idea! Acknowledging and appreciating the many contributions to WIGenWeb Project is definitely *not* more work! I will enjoy it! And with your thoughts of your family... I have to admit, that this has been a transitional year for me. I take great strength from knowing that I have family (in-laws and outlaws <g>), and many friends that care. I take great pride in the work that together we have done, and I wish all of you the very best of this holiday season. Tina

Sorry I'm so slow in getting my thoughts out to you, but I for sure want to say a hardy "Congratulations" to both Paula for her great first year, and to Debbie B. for her super third year anniversary. It's been wonderful getting to know both of you and I appreciate you both very much. I also appreciate the hard work that you both do on your sites. I don't have any family in your counties, but I know how hard you have worked on them and the wealth of info that each of you have put online leaves alot of us with much work to do to catch up! :~) (I'm trying!) Tina, First thanks for your compliments to us CC's... It is really nice to get a pat on the back. Second, Thanks for expanding our WI pages, and making them something to really be proud of. I think back almost five years (in March) and what we had compared to now. All I can say is WOW!!! You did good, girl. And you continue to do so, I thank you very much. What I would like to celebrate, hmmmmmm, that is easy. Each year, I swear I will put up a page listing all my main contributors with a giant THANK YOU. These men and women (behind the scenes) are what make my pages great! If you look on each of my individual pages, you will see their names, but it sometimes just doesn't feel like enough, especially for those people who do massive lookups and mail free literature, and help newbies on the mailing lists, etc. Maybe Tina (more work, I know), we could have a page on the WI Resources with all our contributors listed, make a table like the one for photographs, and link our cc THANK YOU pages ... Let me know whatcha think, ok? With Thanksgiving coming up, I want to share with what I am thankful for this year, having learned humbly without the negative there would be no joy in the positive. I thank god for all eight of my siblings who continually cause me so much grief, frustration, and even anger, because having almost lost my brother this year, it means they are alive and well especially when they are tormenting me the most. I thank god for all my aches, pains, and minor disabilities, it makes them so insignificant when seeing others that would give anything for improved health. I thank god for my worst days, because by far, I have been blessed with much, and without bad times, would have nothing to look forward to... I thank god for a country that publically acknowledges their messed up election this year, as many oppressed people would give their lifes for a day of freedom which most of us take for granted. But mostly I thank god for the ability to be human and make mistakes, because I would never know how much people love me and are willing to forgive my bad behavior when I need it the most. Have a thankful holiday seasons and remember that some of our biggest sorrows can turn into our most joyous occasions... Here is something to "chew on". Maybe not the "cream of the crop" as ideas go, but "fodder for thought". How about taking a slow month, such as January or February and having a "Celebration of Wisconsin". Think of a snappy theme and invite the CC's from every other state in the union (through their State officials) to come and enjoy what we have to present to the world (we could even send invites to the World Counties). They could use their various lists to spred the word. I think we have something pretty special here to offer. Maybe have scheduled days and times for open chat discussions and exchange ideas, thoughts, concerns, needs, etc. Warm and wonderful Wisconsin is the approach! We don't have to change anything on the sites except maybe to put out the welcome mat. Or we could use my uncle's barn and put on a musical show !?! Oh, yah, that's been done already.(Can't carry a tune in a bucket or dance a step anyway). Oh, well, just thought I would "whip up" a little enthusiasm if possible. There are a "bushel" of opportunities here. All we have to do is bring the whole "herd" in for "milking". :0) Rita - Oconto County http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/ WIGenWebProject@aol.com wrote: > One last message tonight... One last message tonight... Then I will be quiet, promise.. First of all, congratulations to both Paula and Debbie on their anniversaries... You are both terrific and our WIGenWeb Project visitors have benefited greatly from all your hard work! The last couple of days I have been pondering all the changes and additions to WIGenWeb Project over the last year. I have tried to tell each of you individually what a terrific job you are doing, but I may have been remiss at times. All of you have just gone for it, and for that commitment to WIGenWeb, USGenWeb, and most importantly to your visitors, you should be very proud! I know that I am, of each and every one of you! I asked a friend recently what we could do to celebrate WI, and how all of you could take a well deserved bow for a job well done.. And her response was ASK them... Very good advice! (I always take good advice.. Thank you Holly!) I would like to hear from each of you on the list.. how you would celebrate WI! What each of you have accomplished over the last year, and what you would like to see the next year bring to the WIGenWeb Project. I celebrate the fact that I have so many wonderful CC's providing so many resources to our visitors. I just marvel at your work!! I thank each and every one of you for your commitment and dedication. And I thank you all for putting up with me, a "girl from away" that has been welcomed to WI with such enthusiasm and grace! I award you all a "Moo"ving WIGenWeb to EXCELLENCE AWARD!! You are all "udderly" terrific.. <groan if you want, I am sincere!> Tina
I celebrate that I don't have to run to the chat room every day to find "help" to "fix" something I just wasn't doing right. Boy when I think about those days of almost quitting before I actually got started and felt like pulling my hair out!! <g> If it weren't for all of the help from all of "YOU" I would have given up in the first month. With all of your encouragement and guidance I stuck with it and I am truly glad of that. I have a long way to go yet but I am continuing to learn each day and having great fun sharing information with other family researchers. Hip Hip Hoorah for Wisconsin!
