It's something I feel I should have done on my sites a long time ago. I just needed that boost that only someone as sharp as you could give to me! Thanks! Now I think I better start taking the gingko stuff to help me with my memory...is that what it's called? Can't remember! :~) -- Nance mailto:nsampson@spacestar.net

    1. Re: [WIGEN-L] To the frozen north from the sunny south of CA
    2. Well, where there is food there is FAMILIES, and where there is families there is "thank goodness" FAMILY history. How is that for going full circle with the thought.. Not bad, huh, for a girl in Maine turning in to an icicle. <VBG> Okay, thinkinking out loud.. Kelly and I have brochure for the WIGenWeb Project in the making... still trying to decide on the darn cow, to use... <VBG>, and although I digress, don't think I didn't notice that MAK is herding in her contributors for her thank you pages, and although her cows are nice, mine are cuter!!!... and Nance, well, I did notice the pun on your brochure (umm... have you shared those with all?) and Rita, God love ya, if the Chamber of Commerce doesn't hire you I will!, and Dick.. your fault, you started it all with a GREAT brochure for Brown County! And then there is Kelly.. my graphic wiz, and all around good scout .. ummmm me thinks she actually found that cow I am so enamored with.. Then you throw into the mix Holly and Sunny, and I could go on for hours!! But I wont! (I hear the Yoorahs!!) ... We have received brochures from 8 WI counties (hope I counted right!) plus the State one, plus the Calendar that I recently put up. I have been also thinking that a "Featured County of the Month" would be a terrific way for us to showcase to our visitors the specialness of particular counties, and the hard work and "magic" that you and your contributors put in on a day to day basis! Somewhere in all of this.. is the makings for what MAK sugguests! Who amongst you can help me put concrete ideas and a plan in place.. I am willing!! Let's discuss! 1. [WIGEN-L] 'I Want' post
    2. Tim Stowell
    3. Back on 12/25 or so, I posted the ditty entitled - 'I Want' to this list. At the time I was unaware that there was a copyrighted but differently worded rendition on the web by a Ms. Brown. Ms. Brown sent me a note requesting that I give her credit for what I posted and claims copyright violation. Since what I posted was not her original work, I can not do that. I've asked the head of a writing center about this and was told that if any violation had occurred it would be on the part of my source. What I can do is explain the circumstances for my post. I attributed at the time of my post my source of the ditty. I had previously asked the permission of those folk to post the ditty giving them credit. I received that permission 15 Jan 2000. Since it was not the Christmas season I saved it for December, 2000. I don't 'check' the Internet to see if someone has copyrighted stuff before I post or pass along stuff I receive. I doubt many folks do. Had I known of Ms. Brown's work, I would have not posted what I did. Tim
