Hello List: Thought I would pass this info on so you aren't wondering what has happened when you can't get into the Pierce County site for a time. Debbie County Coordinator Pierce County WIGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~wipierce/ <<ROOTSWEB TAKES A BREAK. Starting at 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST; 4 p.m. GMT) on Friday, 23 February, RootsWeb will begin a planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as possible, and will return with increased performance and reliability for future growth. In the meantime, please take time to visit RootsWeb's sister sites -- Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.com -- where you will find additional tools such as message boards, communities, and databases to help you in the search for your ancestors.>>

It is with great pleasure that I appoint Marcia Ann Kuehl as Assistant State Coordinator. I am pleased that she has agreed to join Kelly and myself in day to day management of the WIGenWeb Project. We will be all well served. In a note earlier this evening, to Marcia I said, "I have watched your interaction with people, both visitors, contributors, and coworkers alike over the last year, and admire your resourcefulness, humor, patience and good grace." WIGenWeb will be well served! Tina.

Hi all, This is what I found when viewing the Stevens Point ARC website at: http://www.shsw.wisc.edu/archives/arcnet/stevens.html More than 250 series of county and local public records including tax and assessment rolls, rural school district records, probate records, county board proceedings and justice dockets. Also in the holdings are naturalization records for Adams, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, Waupaca and Waushara counties; pre-1907 birth, death and marriage registrations; state and federal population censuses; and genealogical files (98 boxes with card index) compiled at the time of the Wausau Centennial (1972). The ARC holds over 50 collections of papers and records produced by private organizations and individuals. Among them are records (1900-1955) of the Wisconsin Cranberry Sales Company, Wisconsin Rapids; papers (1857-1860) of Burton Millard, a Wausau millwright; records (1854-1946) of the East Lemonweir Lutheran Church; and tape-recorded interviews by Malcom Rosholt. The library has a search feature on it's site as well for you to use http://spoc.uwsp.edu/ Thanks! Recently someone from Holland wrote me a letter. I can translate most of it, but I am really having trouble with some words and phrases. Does anyone know where I might be able to have it translated? Theresa CC for Forest County
Dear fellow Wisconsin CCs, It's time for me to move on. I've been thinking about this for quite some time. I hereby resign effective immediately as the ASC for Wisconsin. This is due to several factors, the most important being that I can no longer work comfortably with the SC due to differences of opinion. If any of you want further details you may ask me privately. I shall continue working with Crawford and Richland counties. If I can be of assistance to any of you in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in the capacity of ASC. Tim Stowell
