A few people have asked me if I get advanced warning on rootsweb outages - no, I don't. Wouldn't that be nice (grin)... I do notice, however, that they go down routinely between the hours of midnight and one PST for short periods of time - probably doing scheduled servincing, kinda like when we are FTPing our stuff to the server. However, when something seems wrong with rootsweb - you can normally go to the HELP desk and there is a notice letting you know what is happening. Or what has been happening... To check to see if they have an advisory posted, go to: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help.cgi Just click on the URL, then bookmark it for when you need to check the status - Hope this helps. I usually leave them, unless they are lookups, which I remove, but, people write and ask for updated emails, which I don't have.
