John and Augusta Barfknect were married March 8, 1878. The couple had 9 surviving children: Alberta, Emily (Hinz), Clara, Lena (Raddatz), Meta (Rebe), Martha (Reetz), Linda, Otto, John Jr., another 3 (maybe more) died in childhood. They farmed in Black Wolf Township (Winnebago County) and then in Eldorado Twnsp (Fond du Lac County). Burial is at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery on Oregon St. Road in Winnebago County (south of Oshkosh). John--June 7, 1852 in Storkow (Kries Nuestettin?) Pommern, Germany--March 25, 1922 (Fond du Lac County) of cancer. His wife died after he did, but burial is next to him.. I have more information on John and some on this family, but very general. John had one sister, Wilhelmina (Wruck) Naffin, who also lived in the area; she is my gr. gr. grandmother, other siblings died young in Germany. E-mail me if you want any more information on John. I'd have to do some looking but might be able to find the information ! on her (Augusta's) parents, if you do not have that already.
