He was born October 19, 1809 in Würtemburg, Germany, and married Catherine Diedrich on October 23, 1862 in Friendship Twp. Fond du Lac Co. He also had a son. Joseph Jr., from his first marriage to Mary Dubois. Joseph Jr. married Alida Updike. They had a son, Joseph, born about 1862. I have no other information on this last one, except his siblings names: Marion, George, and Addie. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Virginia
