As you stated this makes all the records fit, so I am sure this is it. I wish I knew more about the the butchering accident that could explain things further. I do wonder if only one child died in that accident and the other just happened to die about the same time of some other cause. Like you, I question the age of 6 months being connected to a buthchering incident in any way; just don't seem to make sense. Have you every been able to contact any grandchildren?; there could realistically be some living yet. With that many children you would think some decendants still would be in that area. Thanks for sharing the info I will now need to update that part of my records to sort that out. If I can be of some help let me know. Ron
