Researching the John and Catherine (Gerrity) Murray family. John and Catherine were both born in 1807 in Co. Longford Ireland. They raised 9 children and homesteaded in FDL county. I am trying to locate an obituary for John Murray who died between Nov. 23 and Dec 23 of 1856. Would anyone know the name of the newspaper published at that time and how would I research old issues.
