I am just getting started in this search. Have next to no info about the Downs side of our family. My gr grandfather was a David Thomas (He went by Tom) Downs; don't know dates of birth/death/where from, etc. He was married to a Maryann (maiden name Greene) Downs. Her bd-1863, died 1948. They had 5 children--Art, William Thomas (my grandfather), Grace, Roseadella, and Lillian. Maryann was from Crosstimbers, MO, and was a cousin to General Nathanial Greene. She also was previously married to a man named Wisdom (don't have first name, and they had a son, Evert . My grandfather, William, and also his sister Grace, and brother, Art, all settled in Ontario, Oregon, but I don't find anything for the parents, or where they met or married or died, or how my grandfather came to be in Oregon.
