Also - where was basic training for someone who was in the Army Air Force ( as it was known then)? My husband's uncle, Howard J CONNERS, son of J. B. and Ellen CONNERS of S. Main Street, was a SSG whose plane was shot down over Italy - remains never recovered. We do not know what unit he was in. We would like to find out a little more about him.
