Got records from Fond du Lac Court House. Talked to a lot of people from that area for the last 3 years. No one knew any thing. I also tryed to find the undertakers records. No luck. I did look in the cemetery records in Oshkosh. What other records should I try?? Thank you for trying to help.....Dee

Second, have you checked the Oshkosh Public Library? They have most of the Ripon and surrounding area's cemeteries transcribed. They actually have better records than Ripon. If you do want to check with Ripon, call the city. The office of the lady I talked to was behind the car dealerships near the edge of town, in the Public Works building, I believe. She has most of the cemetery records, if the cemetery was transcribed locally. You will need her help to find things, as they are all on index cards! However, Oshkosh Library's info is organized very well into booklets. Good luck!

Going backwards to 1880 U.S. census, in search of your Lawrence's father growing up (in Wisc.) = 1880 US census -- Eldorado, Fond du Lac Co., WI: Alexander Balthazor -- son, b. Mary Balthazor (Alexander's mother) -- age 35, born Canada (and parents same). and Alexander's siblings: Caroline, Zoa, William, Frank, Martin, Joseph, Mary (aka Amelia). Note: John and Mary Balthazor (your Lawrence's grandparents) had a total of 13 children, according to the later 1900 census in Friendship, FDL Co., WI. Among them were also Agnes, Josephine and Malanda. The 1900 census for John and Mary Balthazor also includes John Balthazor's brother Peter (a widower living with them, born March 1829). Regarding Lawrence's mother (Josephine Guyette Balthazar), the 1910 U.S. census shows her with her parents and siblings in Eldorado, Fond du Lac Co, as follows: Guyette household: Alexander Guyette -- head of house, born Sept. 1856 in Wisconsin; parents born Canada; farmer; married 22 years. and Mary -- wife, born Sept. 1861 in Canada, has had 6 children (all still living) and Alexander and Mary's children, all born in Wisc: Alexander Jr. (b. The Oshkosh paper goes to areas outside of Oshkosh. The obits I need are for people who died in FDL county (Ripon, Pickett and others). Oshkosh Daily NW was the main paper that the obits appeared in for small towns in surrounding counties.

Interested in any information regarding Mathias Baldauf(Baldorf) b 1843, Prussia, emigrated 1857 to Fond du Lac settling in Forest township - married to Catherine Bartel b: 1844 Prussia, emigrated in 1854 with her family - father John Bartel. Children by Catherine: Peter, John, Henry, Mary, Katherine, Matthias, Anna, Rose, Anton. Children by Dena who he married in 1888: Edward J.. Dena died in childbirth. Mathias later married Margaret Lefeber(Leveber) and divorced her sometime between the 1900 and 1910 census. - My grandfather was Mathias' son Peter who eventually settled in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Pater married Mary Boehning. Henry married twice, Ida Forkin and then Catherine Birsbach, Mary married Herman Immel, Katherine(Kit) married Jack Schiller, Anna married Ed Reinhardt, Mathias married Anna Boehning, Mary's sister. Rose married John Miller. I don't know if John or Anton married. Edward married and settled in Rockford, IL - Mathias was living with him when the 1930 census was taken.
