    3. Pat, He does not show up online at the Fond du Lac Library but you could email or call the Library & ask them to check. Use this form or call them at 920-929-7080 ext. 132/option 4 FORM URL BELOW http://www.fdlpl.org/askus.html Good Luck, Kathy Subject: [WIFONDDU] Mathias Baldauf obit I recently received a copy of Mathias Baldauf (my ggrandfather) death certificate. He died June 10, 1931 in Fond du Lac and was buried on June 13, 1931. The undertaker's name looks like Hardgrave & Gardan. Could someone do a lookup for his obit or let me know which newspaper might be likely to carry it or if Fond du Lac has any obituaries on line? Thanks in advance. Pat Zander

Could someone do a >lookup for his obit or let me know which newspaper might be likely >to carry it >or if Fond du Lac has any obituaries on line? Thanks in advance. Pat Zander You'll probably get other replies to the list, but here are the facts: The *only* paper in Fond du Lac at that time was the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter. The Fond du Lac Public Library has them all on microfilm. If you write to library and enclose a check for a few dollars (and I mean two or three) and a self-addressed stamped envelope, they will retrieve the obit from microfilm, print a copy, and mail it to you. Fond du Lac Public Library 32 Sheboygan St. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935 (920) 929-7080 email: reference(at)fdlpl.org The library hasof the newpapers obits, etc, but not the obits themselves. I have a rather large Fond du Lac genealogy database but, unfortunately, no Baldaufs. There are some Baldaufs listed in the Fond du Lac Co. Genealogical Society's 1990 inscription book for Calvary Cemetery, the primary Roman Catholic cemetery in Fond du Lac Co., but no Mathias. He is not listed in the other two largest cemeteries, Estabrooks and Rienzi. The undertaker was Hardgrove and Gordon Funeral Home, which went out of business about 50 years ago.

W.E. Marsh performing the ceremony as the couple stood beneath a large and handsome wedding bell. They were attended by Mr. Daniel O'Riley as best man and Miss Beatrice Howard as bridesmaid. The parlor was beautifully and tastefully decorated. A wedding lunch was served in the dining room after the ceremony. Of the bride we know very little, except that she is a very pretty and attractive young woman and we believe will make Mr. Miller an exceedingly good life's companion. Mr. Miller is a fireman on the branch line of the Soo railroad, and while he has been with us only a short time, he has gained the respect and good will of everyone and has made many warm friends, who extend their heartiest congratulations to the happily wedded pair, the esteem for whom was substantially shown by a number of handsome and useful presents. Mr. and Mrs. Miller will make their home in this city for present. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. John Orrick, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Thrapp, Rev. Will of Wild Rose, Mr. .(the last line of my copy was cut off) Lani Visit our site at: http://wvls.lib.wi.us/clarkcounty/
