I did some checking at the County Clerk's office and found only the marriage record for Fila Lewis and Framk M. Worthing. According to the record, they were married on July 6, 1873, in Waupun. Frank's parents were David and Jane Worthing. There were no names for the parents of the bride. Frank was listed as a farmer from Oakfield. I was surprised that there was no birth record for Edgar David Worthing.

I have a marriage of Frid. Goebel, age 27 and Agnes Deville, age 20, on 5 May 1868 in Dotyville WI. I always thought it was too much of a coincidence to find this Deville in the same neighborhood as my Reinhardts (whom I have written to you before, because of the Reinhardt-Lumblot marriage). I also found the marriage of Elizabeth Romens to Andrew Deville on 24 April 1855, in Dungannon, Columbiana Co. Ohio. The Romens family and many others, had come to Dungannon from Alsace and Belgium, and from Dungannon they continued on to the Ashford area of Fond du Lac county. If I find anything more, I will pass it along. Tracy

I believe she may be related to Charles Devillers and could possibly be the daughter of Jean Joseph Devillers. She is my great grandmother. She was married to Constant Lumblot around 1855 to 1862, when their first child was born. They lived in Fond du Lac their whole married life. I have much information on the Devillers families in Door and Kewaunee counties, but I cannot find any reference to Rosalie. Because of several spelling differences, my search has been difficult. Thank You Tom

Because it was published in the city she was born in, it might name the living relatives in the Boonville area. The obituary I have from the city she died in only lists 2 sons and 2 daughters as survivors. She died in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jEC.2ACE/513.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't know when my Mary Ann Sherman was born, but some information suggests it was before 1818, when sister Saloma Sherman was born. It's not all worked out yet, and there is some conflicting info, but it seems mother Saloma Calkins Sherman married as her second husband about 1819, which would mean the three Sherman children (William, Mary Ann, Saloma) were born before then. I just checked the 1820 census for Boonville, Oneida Co., NY. There are two Shermans. Stephen Sherman household had one boy to 10, one male ages 26-45, 3 girls to age 10, one girl ages 10-16, and one woman ages 26-45. William Sherman household had 1 boy to 10, 1 boy 10-16, 1 boy 16-26, 1 man 26-45, 3 girls to age 10, and one woman 26-45. Both have girls who are of the age of your Mary.

    1. Where to write for Empire Cemetery records?
    2. Margaret DeForeest
    3. When in Salt Lake City in 1990, I found my ancestors, John SEWELL and wife Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, listed in a book of Empire Township Tombstone Inscriptions. John SEWELL (born circa 1790 in England) and wife came to Fond du Lac in the early 1850s - he owned a dry goods store with sons, John Jr. and Joseph. Elizabeth died in Fond du Lac in 1877; she is in the Wisc. Death Index and I have a copy of her death record. John d. circa 1882 but I couldn't find him in the Death Index. In the 1880 census, he was enumerated with son, John SEWELL, in Steele County Minnesota so he may have died there and was buried in Fond du Lac. Where do I write for Empire Cemetery records? Thanks for any help... Margaret

    3. While not regarding Fond du Lac county, I feel that this site is worth passing along to you, since we have several Irish areas in the county. If you have Irish roots in your ancestry, and are looking for missing family members from the famine, you should know that the National Archives of Ireland, have created a database of Irish that were transported to Australia. 3. Just added to the website: OBITUARY INDEX A partial index to obituaries found in the Fond du Lac Reporter for the 1970's and 1980's. This is an index to those obituaries that were donated to the Fond du Lac Co Genealogical Society. Some of the lists are very short, but some of the lists take a long time to load, but I am working on reducing the file size so that it loads faster. A BIG thank you to Joyce Dille, who typed all of this, and who generously donated this to the website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wifonddu/resources/misc/obits.html You can find the obits link on the table of contents page, and also on the newspaper clippings page.
