My grandmother was Georgia Ophelia Stanchfield, who married Gorton Ritchie, and Eleanor's other sister was Margaret Stanchfield Trebilcock. We called Georgia Grandma Dode, and Margaret Aunt Molly. They had a brother too, but I can't remember his name, and I haven't got the Stinchfield Stanchfield book with me. Grandma lived variously in Madison and Milwaukee, and died in New York city in 1997, at the age of 95. Aunt Molly died shortly before, at the age of 100. I guess we're a long lived bunch! I've never been to Fond du Lac, but I have access to photos of Eleanor, Georgia, and Margaret. please feel free to email me, and I certainly hope your mother enjoyed her trip.

Surnames: Weber/Schmitz/Mertes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jEC.2ACE/433.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks for your note. The only information we have to go on is that Anna Marie (Weber) Mertes, m. Antone Mertes and they lived in St. Cloud, WI. They came from Gillenbueren, Germany in 1847(m. in 1829). They spent a short time in Cleveland, Ohio and Anna died in WI in 1867. We know her daughter Gertrud had a cousin by the name of Fr. Nicholas Schmitz, so looks like Anna Marie's sister married a Schmitz. We are trying to find out a name of her sister or any other relative. The only other info is that Jacob Weber sold the land to Antone and Anna in 1850, in St. Cloud, Fond du Lac County, WI. There's is a Jacob Weber in the 1855 census in Sheybogan County, but we don't know if it's the same Jacob who sold the land. Anything familiar? Thanks for your help.
