One of his sons, Andrew, was my husband grandfather. Andrew was born on March 13, 1878. He married Emma Hannigan who died when she gave birth to their daugher Emma in Coteau-Station, province of Québec, Canada. We do not know at this point what are the circonstances that brought Andrew to Canada. He worked for the Atlantic Railway. Patrick and Maria had 12 children which you mentionned in your message. Garret moved to Clarno, Henry Lyons to Ohio, John Lyons in Washington, Dennis in Kansas and Andrew in Canada. Didn't know bout Catherine and William. Hope this helps. If you have any more information, I would be interested since I am just starting this research about the Lyons family.

I have an old FDL Genealogical Society newsletter that lists "index to birth - book 1". I am confused by the column - with no heading - that comes after the "Vol or Year" column. It lists either a "P" or a "F" in the column. What does this mean? Also, I want a brith record for: BURKE, Nellie b. 186-0 Oct. 1, "F", File No. or Page 2338 Are these available from WI State or FDL County?

Does anyone on this FDL list have the early Wisconsin marriages? I'm looking for a marriage record for Johanna BURK and ?? MCMAHON somewhere between two baptisms at St. Vincent, Oshkosh, April 1877 (she is Johanna Burk)- July 13, 1879 (she has now become Johanna McMahon).
Hi Brian. My name is Tracy, and I volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness in Winnebago Co. If you would like me to do any lookups at the cemetery, let me know. I will be happy to. I only live a mile from the library, so it is pretty convenient! Tracy
Hi Tracy, The line of Klemps that I descend from are mostly from Oconto(Gillett) and Langlade(Antigo) Counties. I'm not aware of any other Klemps from Fond du Lac or Winnebago at this time. My G-G Grandfather John Klemp apparently had a brother that lived in Clintonville but they did not stay in touch with each other for some reason. My research seems to point to Frederick Klemp as being his brother, although I haven't been able to confirm that with any other Klemp family members. I have a web page on the Oconto County Families Web Site that summarizes my Klemp family research so far. You can access it as follows: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/klemp.htm Although we are probably related, I haven't found a connection with the Sommerville family yet. Maybe you can provide me with the Klemp names you are aware of and we can link the two ends together. A distant cousin of mine, Pearl Kramer, is very knowledgeable about the Klemp family. Her grandfather was John Klemp. She currently lives in Seymour, Wisconsin and can be reached at (920)833-2459(She doesn't have E-Mail). You can contact her or I can ask her about the connction with the Sommerville family next time I talk to her. Thanks for your E-Mail and please keep in touch. Happy New Year! Jim Klemp Oklahoma

Tracy, Your E-Mail concerning Mr. Smith caught my eye. My G-G Grandfather John Klemp was listed as living in Springvale when he entered the Civil War(Co.F & K, 4th Cavalry Reg, WI) in March 1865, but I could not find him listed in the 1860 Fond du Lac (Springvale Township) Census. He was listed in the Oconto County Census in 1870. Was there a 1865 Fond du Lac County (Springvale Township) Census that was taken that I could check into? I really appreciate your help. Thanks, Jim Klemp Oklahoma

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jEC.2ACE/1350.1 Message Board Post: Springvale is a township, (not a village or city) and measures 6 miles by 6 miles square. Listing Springvale as a place of birth, likely means that your ancestor was a farmer and owned land. It is rare to find that a birth in the 1840's would be recorded in the county, and the only place to find a specific date would likely be a family bible. However, you could order the 1850 census for Fond du Lac county, WI, and search through the township of Springvale for your ancestor as a small child. The census would then show the names of his parents. Census records can be ordered to be searched at your local library, through inter-library loan, saving yourself a research trip if necessary.
