Surnames: Ferg Ferch Sommerfeld Kanth Lafave Prothero Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jEC.2ACE/290.556.1.1 Message Board Post: It's possible..in fact it's more than likely. Because each generation of the Ferg family was so large it's hard to keep track of all the siblings. For instance, my grandfather Elmer had 10 brothers and sisters. My Great grandfather Adolph was the youngest of 9, I BELIEVE. My grandpa Elmer does not remember too much of his uncles. My next generation back would be Wilhelm August Ferg. Wilhelm and his brother Augusta were the first Fergs in Wisconsin. You can see current pictures of the original homestead by doing a search for Ferg's Bavarian Inn. I have the exact web site if that doesn't work. Another rather annoying family fun fact is that they have the worst habit of referring to one another by middle names as well as first names. I think they did this because often they used the same names over each generation.

Information was graciously supplied that Washington shows up in the 1880 Fond du Lac County census at age 50, being a "servant" (I think farmhand). And then again in the 1900 census listing him in the Alms House. Can anyone confirm that the Alms House of 1900 was also known as the Fond du lac County Hospital? Is it still in existance? Is there also a cemetery there? Looking for any and all information as this guy seems to disappear for me after 1875. Would truly treaure being able to find his death certificate and burial place.
