    3. Land records for Fond du Lac county, are found in the Register of Deeds office. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wifonddu/resources/vitals/regdeeds.html There is a grantor-grantee index to land transactions, which is very helpful. The people in the office do NOT do genealogical research, and I do not have anyone right now who volunteers to do look-ups for county research. Tracy

I found it using the search thread for Gilbert. I believe there is a close connection with the Anthony Gilbert family who also settled in Fond du Lac. Anthony was also a machinist in the city of Fond du Lac. He came to the USA in 1847 but appears to be already married to Jane Elizabeth Frederick before settling in Fond du Lac. We have photos of Joseph Gauslin and a girl A. Gauslin who were friend of the Gilbert children.

I have often wondered when I was young why it was called Bones Woods - but now I think perhaps it was not Bones Woods, but Bowens Woods - after your ancestor - Just an interesting little thought that came to me after reading your message. Brings back some old memories. David H.Penke [email protected]

Surnames: Lucia, Trembley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jEC.2ACE/1386 Message Board Post: Any information on the family of Joseph LUCIA of the Rosendale area. Joseph was born around 1812 in Canada, and his wife's name was Emily (maiden name unknown). They raised their family in Vermont from 1839-1850, and by 1850 were in Wisconsin. The 1860 Fond du Lac County Census shows them as having daughters Alvine, Clarissa, Caroline, Ovrie, Doriseh, and Fidella. Another daughter was Mary Eugenie, who married Moses TREMBLEY in 1859. A Joseph LUCIA married in Fond du Lac County in 1872--perhaps a second marriage or a son's marriage? An Edward LUCIA appears in the county around 1850-1855--perhaps a relative of Joseph? Any help on this family is appreciated. Thanks!
