    3. >From the 26 March 1942 edition of the Altoona Tribune: Lieut. Duganne Made Instructor Enid Army Flying School, Okla. -- A former resident of Altoona, Lieut. John A. Duganne, has recently been appointed flight instructor here. The Wisconsinite was graduated from the advanced school of training at Kelly Field, Texas, Dec. 20, 1940, after receiving his primary instruction at Alabama Institute of Aeronautics and his basic training at Randolph Field, Texas. Before his aviation training, Lieut. Duganne attended Stout Institute, Menomonie, for two years. Lieut. Duganne is the so of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Duganne, Lynn Ave., and attended the local school before entering Stout. He is a local boy who is well known. He has visited Altoona twice in recent months, once flying here for a very brief visit while on business in this part of the country. Wedding Anniversary Surprise Party Enjoyed A group of ten ladies pleasantly surprised Mrs. R. H. Buchholz at her home on Lynn Ave. Saturday evening, the occasion being Mr. and Mrs. Buchholz's wedding anniversary. "500" was enjoyed, with Miss Ruth Jacobson receiving high honors. Mrs. Olaf Olseth was winner of the second prize and Mrs. W. R. Connell received the door prize. The guest of honor was presented a beutiful gold pin as a gift.
