>From the 5 March 1942 edition of the Altoona Tribune: Enlisted Boys Leave Alfred Radawitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Radawitz, Daniels Ave., and Newell Pettis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pettis, also Daniels Ave., left Monday night for Camp Grant, Ill., where they will be assigned to a branch of service. The boys enlisted at the recruiting office in Eau Claire last week. Birthday Party A birthday party was held in honor of Miss Barbara Matysik's fifteenth birthday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Matysik, Hayden Ave., on Monday evening. Eight guests were present and games were played. At ten o'clock a very tasty lunch was served. The guest of honor received many lovely gifts from her numerous friends and relatives.
