    3. >From the Thursday, 12 March 1942 edition of the Daily Telegram of Eau Claire: New 4-H Club Is Organized in Clear Creek The 4-H club orgainized on March 6 at a meeting held on March 6 at the Henry Bohlinger home in Clear Creek will hold its next meeting at the Irwin Baker home on Friday, 20 March. All boys and girls, between the ages of ten and twenty-one who did not join the club at the March 6th meeting, and who are interested are invited to attend this meeting. County Agent S.S. Mathisen, who was present at and addressed the organization meeting, which did not at that time select a name, called attention to the fact that groups of five or more boys and girls interested in forming a 4-H club anywhere in the county will be given the full assistance of the county agent's office. The county agent explained the workings of the 4-H clubs and mentioned the various projects which might be taken up this year, emphasizing projects most helpful in the war effort. Officers Elected Henry Bohlinger, Jr., president; Earl Meye, vice-president; George Nix, treasurer; Bernard Mock, club reporter; and as song leader, Jimmy Baker, who promptly led in the "Happy Birthday" song for Irene Meyer. Mrs. Henry Bollinger, Sr., was chosen local club leader and an advisory committee of adults was chosen, consisting of Mrs. Wm. Mock, Mrs. Herman Meyer, and Seb. Nix. No action was taken to give the club a name at the organization meeting. This was deferred to a later date so that other members taken in later would have an opportunity to express their preference. -- Nance
