It's such a nice day here in northern Wisconsin, I thought I'd take a little break and enjoy the day. But there is some old news that might be of interest to some of you. Mrs. King is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Berkley. Karl E. Walter, student at the University of Minnesota, and resident of Eau Claire, recently pledged Delta Upsilon national academic fraternity. Hostesses for the regular montly meeting of the Luther Hospital Guild on Monday afternoon in the Nurses home will be the Mmes. Chris Volkman, chairman, G. H. Trengove, Chris Midelfart, T.M. Holland, R. W. Owen, L.G. Culver, H.C. Huston, Carl Volkman, H.T. Egdahl, H.S. Fuson, and Frank Wright. New Arrivals: A son was born on March 9th to Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Garton 1023 1/2 Emery Street, at Sacred Heart Hospital. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Foster, 415 Congress Street at the Sacred Heart hospital, Thursday, March 12. Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Anderson, Elk Creek Lake, announce the birth of a daughter at Luther Hospital, March 13. Personals: Mr. and Mrs. A. Mattison attended the funeral of Louie Mattison, a brother at Tomahawk, WI, Tuesday. Mrs. Bessie Carpenter left on Thursday for Ft. Lewis, Wash., where she is going to visit her son, Donald, who is in the army. She is planning a 2 weeks' trip. E.B. Ingram of Eau Claire is visiting at St. Petersburg, Fla. Corporal Warren Tietz is home from Camp Livingston to vist his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. Tietz, Summer Street. Aviation cadet Jack Brushert is home on leave of absence due to the serious illness of his mother, Mrs. F. A. Brushert, who is at Sacred Heart Hospital. Cadet Brushert is finishing his training at Miami, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Pearson of Milwaukee, son of W. L.
