Yes, it's true that the new Message Board system has a few bugs and it is confusing. But they are working on it and I can see where it will be a huge improvement over the old "GenConnect" system once everything is running smoothly. I am encouraged to see the new postings everyday. In the past, with the old GenConnect boards, the messages were gatewayed to this mail list so that anyone who subscribed here to this list could read them here and then respond to the messages on the boards if they had additional information. That system proved to be confusing as many of the subscribers were only responding to the list and not to the board, even though there was a notice at the top of each gatewayed message that said "Respond to..." With the advent of these new boards, one of the major bugs is that the gatewayed message has no identification on it at all of where it came from or who was writing the message. Therefore, I have turned the gateway off until this bug has been corrected. I'm hoping it will be soon and that the messages will be clearly marked so everyone will know whether to respond here or on the boards. Perhaps we can have the best of both worlds once again!
