REDMOND, wife of Thomas Horan, of this city, in the prime of life, in her twenty-eightb year, died at her residence on the 28th ult. But a few days previous she gave birth to twin children, girls. Hope was entertained of her speedy resuscitation. Mother and children were doing well, but alas! poor, frail harnamity! A change for the worse took place, and despite all human ingenuity and medical skill, the darling one, the beloved, was snatched into eternity. A broken-hearted husband is left to take care of three little babies. Well indeed, might he exclaim with the Pessimist CI: "Turn not away thy face from me,oh, Lord! In the day when I am in trouble, for my days are vanished like smoke, and my bones are grown dry like fuel for the fire. I am eraistem as grass, and my heart is withered. I have watched, and am become as a sparrow, all alone on the house-top." Yes, indeed afflection is thy not at present, but God chastens those whom he loves. God has chastened not only the husband, but and aged father living in the Eastern States. Who can account for this sad affliction! Who will not pity the gray hairs of a fond father! O God! how in comprehensible are thy judgements, and how unreasonable thy ways. For who hath known the mind of the Lord! Or who hath been his counsellor! All who had the happiness of her acquaintance willingly pay a tribute of respect to her memory. "Twere idle to recount her many virtues, her essentially religous tarm of mind, and her affable and amiable manner. Her funeral best records her biography. There were about eighty carriages in procession. On Thursday, the 30th ultimo, her remains were interred, after solemn requiem mass and sermon, by Rev. M. Connolly, pastor. R.I.P.
