WIGenWeb site. These are early birth and death records of the people who attended the Drammen Lutheran Church and date back to 1886. It will give you a good idea of the families that lived in that area. You can find these records by going to the link below and scrolling down to the "Churches" section. Hi all, I went to check out an antique shop today in Osseo and came across these 2 yearbooks. If anyone wants me to check for their surnames, let me know. I'm hoping that someone in New York (City) might be able to do a look up for me in exchange for a yearbook look up. I also have access to Many and Memorable "A History of the 110 Rural Schools of Trempaeleau County" and "History of Trempealeau County WI". Thanks, Pat

Posted on: EauClaire Co. Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/EauClaire/10628 Surname: Krupp, Mertens, Langenfeld, Tiedemann ------------------------- P.S. I did some looking based on your clue about Anton Mertens and came up with a tree indicating that Anton Mertens wife was Margaret Krupp. Johann's father would either have been her brother Wilhelm Heinrich (b. c. 1772) or Joseph (b. c. 1780). Their father was George Antonius Krupp, of Peppenshoven, Ramershoven, Rheinbach, Rheinland. This tree goes 2 more generations back. Does this ring true with what you know? I didn't see any mention of Steinheim, but I am not familiar with place names and proximities. Regan

Posted on: EauClaire Co. Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/EauClaire/10626 Surname: Krupp, Mertens, Tiedemann ------------------------- Hi Scott, Thanks for the reply. I unfortunately don't know more about the Krupps yet (yours or mine) as I have just begun this part of my tree. I would be interested in anything you have that might be relevant. Also, some of my information comes from a relative who has Anna Clara Fitz as Clara Filz (Kruescher)(--I'm betting yours is the correct version as the Merten name seems to be linked to Kriescher's which I already suspected were the "Krueschers" and all are from New Holstein, WI.) Your's is the first mention of Merten I have heard, so thank you for the new trail. Thanks, Regan
Posted on: EauClaire Co. Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/EauClaire/10625 Surname: KRUPP ------------------------- Regan, Thanks for your note on Caspar Krupp. When I began researching Johann Kropp/Krupp, b. abt 1864, I believed that he was the son of JOhann & Anna Clara Fitz. As it turns out, my Johann Krupp, who resided in Hilbert, WI, was actually from Plymouth, WI, which is not too far from St. Anna's, where Caspar's family resided. Your Krupps seem to be from Steinheim, Germany, and mine from Widdeshoven. There is about 100 miles between them (if memory serves me correct) so I don't know if there is a connection. I believe that Caspar's brother, Johann went to western central WI with him. Jacob Krupp stayed and inherited the farm. The only sister married Nicholas Langenfeld. I'm sure you know that Caspar's father, Johann was a nephew to Anton Mertens & his wife (who was a Krupp), also of St. Annas. I have some info through my searching if you are interested. I would be interested if you know whether Krupps were truly from Steinheim as purported, and a family group on JOhann & his children. Scott
