Seeking information on ancestors or other descendents of my greatgrandfather John Findlay McGrath, b. IRE 1826, married Mary Ann Byrnes in Fond du Lac in 1851, came to Eau Claire with family in 1858, d. Eau Claire 1908. Besides my grandmother Jessie McGrath Gilbertson, offspring included Hugh Jocelyn McGrath, who died of war wounds in the Philippines in 1899, and (according to J. F. McGrath's obit) a son Emmet. Any information greatly appreciated.

I've checked along the counties borders for any signs of Whipple creek and no such luck, but not every creek is identified on my 1878 map. I also checked the map's index for a Whipple Creek post office, and none is listed in this edition [1878]. Eau Claire does have a Whipple Street, and in the 1860s had some prominent businessmen and Civil War soliders of that name. Sorry I can't help you futher. Anita

There is no other info I have on the REETZ name so for now i can not help you out but maybe you can shed so info my way on the name. The Schmidts were members of St Johns Luth and I also have relatives as members of St James Luth there in Fall Creek. My Aunt Dorothy Schmidt married one William VOIGT from St James Luth. I myself was born and raised in Eau Claire and I have a few relatives still up there in Eau Claire County and Chippewa County.
